With the much anticipated and long awaited sequel to one of the largest fighting games of all time, I think it’s appropriate to shed some light on some fighters that I’m sure everyone wants thrown into the ring. Marvel Vs Capcom 3 has plenty of well known characters from the respective Marvel and Capcom universes, but there’s many that have yet to throw down on the battlefield and with DLC being such a prominant aspect of gaming nowadays. We count down the 5 most wanted characters for future DLC’s… in no specific order.
Sure — super strength, durability and the ability to fly are all sort of “been there, done that”, but wielding the Nova-Force would be an awesome thing to experience while kicking the crap out of your favourite Capcom enemy. I think Nova could be a unique new character with a lot of potential for MVC3. Nova has been around for years but really burst onto the scene in 2007 when the writers over at Marvel decided to give him his own series of comics. He’s been growing in popularity ever since.
2. Red Skull
If anyone tells you there’s a more badass villain then Red Skull… they’re lying. Red skull, unlike most Marvel characters, has no super-human powers of any sort. This would make his actions in fights that much more amazing. He has always had a maniacal mind and honestly, who wouldn’t like to see a fighter finished off by the infamous “dust of death”? Red Skull is almost as old as comics themselves and has stood the test of time as being the long time villain, and eventual murderer of one of the world’s most reknown heroes, Captain America.
I’m pretty sure that a lot of players have been looking forward to ripping people apart as Beast throughout the life of the MVC series but have yet to have their hungers craved. Beast would be MVC’s answer to Street Fighter’s “Blanka”. He’s perfect for a fighting game and the fans are calling his name. My only request is that we recieve the blue form shown in the picture, and not the original human form. Beast has undergone a few transformations throughout his history and the blue furry Beast form the 70′s is the most popular, and recognized (as well as longest lasting) portrayal of the character and it just wouldn’t be the same otherwise.
A master of weaponry and undying God may have already made the list in MVC but Ares could have so much more potential to be an amazing and versatile character to play. This guy can basically do anything he wants. He’s like a walking tank with an attitude and furthermore, nobody can say they don’t want a match between Thor and Ares…He first appeared back in the early 40′s and has risen and fallen in popularity since then but with his recent membership into Norman Osborn’s Avengers, he’s bigger then ever right now.
This guy defines unique for me. Although Penance is pretty new to the scene, he was under a different costume and alias as “Speedball” since ’88, only taking on the role of Penance in 2007′s Civil War. Penance’s kinetic powers derive from the constant searing pain he feels nearly every moment of his life; sort of like a Marvel version of Sweettooth from the Twisted Metal series. I think he would look amazing in MVC’s unique graphics and could also add some unique moves and styles to the game’s roster.
