5 Much Needed DLC Characters for Marvel vs. Capcom 3
My last article depicted my interest for future DLC characters added to Marvel’s side of Marvel vs. Capcom 3, so this time we’re heading over to Capcom’s side of the battlefield to to count down my most wanted characters for future MVC3 DLC…in no specific order.
1. Firebrand
This fiery demon was a huge obstacle for Arthur in the Ghosts and Goblins series until he got his own game, entitled “Gargoyle’s Crest” that was then followed up by the mosre popular “Demon’s Crest”. I’m sure everyone would love a red demon with bat wings flying around, blowing fire at everyone. Technically he’s already in MVC3, but only as an NPC. Everything about this character screams “MVC3″ and I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before the game developers come to their senses and throw him in the ring.
2. Phoenix Wright
Phoenix is one of the most fought over characters for MVC3. He’s been around since 2001 in Japan but only became known to Americans in 2006 when his game was brought over to the DS and Wii digital download store. Since then he’s grown in popularity substantially. There was debate over including Phoenix into MVC3 by the game developers, who eventually decided not to. This was most likely because the character is a lawyer in the games and would be hard to place in a fighting game without seeming out of place. I still think our favourite defense lawyer deserves a spot in the roster and I have high hopes that we’ll see him there sooner or later.
3. Scrooge McDuck
I think this one has to be a no-brainer. All of the duck tales game are made by Capcom and now with Disney owning Marvel, it just makes sense to have Uncle Scrooge in the game. I think he’d prove to be an unusual and funny entry into the game. I know I’d love to smack Thor around with my cane and maybe toss a bag of gold coins in his face. Scrooge McDuck is one of the oldest characters you’ll find in the game, with roots reaching back as far as 1947, and we all know it’s about time to see what he’s made of.
4. Leon Kennedy
Leon is definitely choice of personal interest. Capcom’s side of MVC3 already seems to have far too many Resident Evil characters but there’s always been something about Leon Kennedy that has made him a fan favourite. He first appeared back in 1998 and has been popping up here and there ever since but really emerged as the main character in Resident Evil 4 with his sweet bomber jacket and appeared alongside his old partner Claire in the film “Resident Evil: Degeneration”.
5. Onimaru
Onimaru is a Samurai from Onimusha: Tactics and frankly…he kicks ass. He’s easily one of the best characters in the game and has the unique ability to transform into a beast that could tare the limbs off a fighter and beat him/her to death with them. With no other Samurai’s to be found on MVC3′s roster, Onimaru is a much needed addition to an already amazing Capcom team.
