Planking-The Dumbest New Craze on the Internet

Fads have always been in existence… but with the gentle guidance of our crazy uncle internet, they are becoming much more frequent… and stupid. The art of planking is literally a pass time people are doing in Australia where they take pictures of themselves just laying on things. Cars, bridges… anything can be planked. It’s taking Australia by storm… and you too can become a part of this new soon to be gone idiotic act of boredom.

Planking was the brainchild of an Aussie electrician named Richard Litonjua. It is currently in it’s infancy… but is rapidly growing in popularity. A short time ago they started a Facebook group for plankers… and now it boasts over 10000 members. The group is called the Brisbane Planking Association and it continues to grow rapidly in popularity, having only been invented days ago.

This new pass time does have a dark side, one man was arrested already for laying on a police car. This new world of planking poses many questions and concerns. How does one talk to their kids about the dangers of planking? Can you easily quit planking once you start? As the scourge of planking continues to grow… the only advice that can be offered is to stay alert. If you notice people lying down in unusual public places… it may already be too late.

Next we have to wonder if it will take hold here in America. The answer to that is probably not. Americans who are some of the fattest people on the planet are already master layers… and they are way beyond laying on anything outside of their designated TV watching arena. If it does start to creep up the spine of this hemisphere though, we must all work together diligently to end it’s reign of destruction.
