Snoop Dogg Pitching The ‘American Idol’ of Rap To Networks

Snoop took some time off from his busy schedule of nonstop weed smoking to shop an idea for a show around to the different networks. ‘Hip Hop Idol’ would be a competition show to find the next big hip hop star. Some of the major networks have already turned down Snoop’s idea… but apparently MTV and E! have shown interest. Snoop wants the judges to be a collection of hip hop greats… including Jay-Z (although Jay-Z’s people have denied any involvement in the show.)

Snoop thinks it could be as popular as ‘American Idol’ once was… but the networks remain pretty unconvinced. Rapper Wiz Khalifa has shown interest in being a judge on the show and others big names are bouncing around for a judge’s spot on the show if it gets greenlit. Which is a BIG if. Snoop recently said, “I’m looking for a deal from a network to find America’s hottest ‘hood artists.” This show could be WAAAAY cooler than anything that would ever air on ‘American Idol’ or any of the other talent competitions. Plus, how funny would it be to see the embarrassing rappers get hilarious reactions from Snoop. HILARI-IZZLE!
