Occupy Wall Street NY in Turmoil Right Now
Things are apparently getting pretty crazy over at Liberty Square, where Occupy Wall Street is currently protesting in NY. Police have closed off the park with metal barricades, refusing to let people in or out. Many reports of violence inside the park. This morning, around 200 people were arrested while creating human barricades on Wall Street.
It’s been rumored that the Federal Government is working on plans to put an end to OWS for good, but rumors are somewhat worthless so let’s just forget about that for now.
New York isn’t the only place seeing a lot of action right now. The bridge to the financial district in LA was also blocked this morning, along with occupy Portland’s closing of a bridge and the 3,000+ marching in Greece.
There are some live streams here. I’m trying to find the most up-to-date information on the protest, namely from people tweeting about it, but this pretty much sums it up:
The best way to find out about this seems to be by going down there myself and checking it out. It’s rainy, it’s cold, and my dog wants to cuddle, but the world awaits. See you in a few minutes, lots of angry people and pepper spray. I’ll be checking out downtown NY and posting my pictures/info here tonight or tomorrow morning.
