And, for the luxury of doing business in the wealthiest nation in the world, the taxes paid are well worth the cost. You live in a world where anything is possible and do nothing but whine about it.
That said, big businesses do get away with murder (the $10 minimum corporate tax, for instance, or blowing entire mountains apart and releasing all the toxic chemicals within to get at the stuff they want, leaving poisoned waterways and dead soil behind) because they can afford to buy off their Republican friends to make it possible to do anything they want at the expense of the small businesses and citizens who pick up all the slack.
All the while, Republicans pretend they are the friend of "business". They just never admit that means businesses who can afford them. Not small business. My entire relations, 8 families, all own their own businesses and I have been a sole proprietor most of my life as well. I know exactly what I am talking about. Organized, effing, crime.
By contrast, the other (viable) side, can't seem to overcome the dark side even when they ARE in power. As Roy Rogers once said, "I don't belong to an organized political party. I'm a Democrat."
The best I can do to help. Never vote Republican. Ever.
